Post the catastrophic hurricanes Irma and Maria, the British Virgin Islands chose to rise from their challenges and use their second TEDx RoadTown as an avenue for healing and growth. Lynda was honored to be included with a powerful group of motivational speakers on their theme, Past Lives and Future Visions. My talk, Imagine MORE.
There is no denying how polarized we are nationally and globally. We are living with socially frayed connections, eroding trust and social isolation. The 2025 Bi-Partisan State of the Nation report has found that as our income and material wealth levels rise, the measures for well-being are declining. The more we are gaining economically the more our mental health and life satisfaction indicators are deteriorating.
Time to be MORE. Lynda's life-transforming concept of MORE, based on her book, the little book of MORE: the evolution of YOU. MORE is an acronym for four key elements, Meaning, Owning, Relationships, and Emotions. It is through focusing on and fostering these four elements that we continue to grow, evolve, and heal in our lives. This talk explores how to live MORE authentically you. Your authentic self does not need to settle for declining mental health and life satisfaction.
This talk will allow participants to explore your MORE through what gives you Meaning, step in and Own your worth and potential, consider how your Relationships are supporting or limiting you, and understand how your Emotions are opportunities for growth and learning.
There is no shortage of studies showing how gender bias is one of women's biggest hurdles in leadership. More often, women are described as too emotional, too intimidating, too accommodating, too fast, too slow, and the list goes on. Those biases are draining, discouraging, and deferential to women leaders who are expanding and living their potential. The negative feedback impacts how you think, perceive, problem-solve, and deal with stress.
Your leadership success is directly tied to your mental fitness and how you embrace and personalize the world of constant change. Understanding how your mind and body influence your capacity to succeed is essential for navigating change. This presentation will stretch your thinking and expand your insights and move you from your "Ya but" excuses to your "Hell Ya!" actions.
Approximately 3.1 million people died in the US in 2023. Grief studies show that, on average, the death of one person leaves 9-12 close grieving individuals. That’s 30 -37 million people annually experiencing grief in a year. Combine that with our extremely limited ability to support mental health; we have a lot of grief walking wounded all around us today.
This first year, past the death of her husband, has been an exploration in allowing Lynda to experience the complex dichotomies of grief, from the depths of despair to the peaks of gratitude. She has learned to recognize and experience grief not just as a process or a series of stages but as a companion.
Every day, her grief companion has led her to new realizations and understandings of how to craft the rest of my life to embrace her MORE fully. She would love to empower others with MORE—not to prescribe a path, but to offer an invitation. Whether they’re navigating grief now or will face it in the future, the concept of MORE can help those grieving to move through the complexity with compassion for themselves and others.
It is an opportunity for those grieving and those who care about them to explore grief through Meaning-making, reach within and Own their new journey, thoughtfully choose Relationships that nurture and foster them, and permission to experience all of their Emotions, embracing grief as a companion that will support you as you craft the horizon line for their tomorrow.
The words we think and the words we use directly impact our wellness and ability to thrive. Whether you are seeking a Motivational Speaker or Keynote Speaker, this talk shares the neuroscience behind our word choices and how those choices can create a downward spiral of stress and burnout. Learning to recognize and rewrite the scripts allows us to create opportunities for healthy choices and opportunities for maximizing our wellness.
Burnout is insidious, it happens when you are busy, with no time to pause and no time for the people you love. Lynda awakens participant awareness of their self-defeating habits and practices and the negative impact they have on their lives, relationships, and careers. She takes their insights to the next level by giving them a mental fitness framework for taking control and creating actions that will foster their health and work-life harmony.
